Seven Working Day Health Guarantee

If buyer’s veterinarian determines that a pup is defective, the vet must put an explaination of the defect in writing.  The pup may be returned to us and full refund will be given provided Ganderwood's veterinarian of choice verifies the defect.  No refund will be given for a pup not cared for properly within these seven days. Ganderwood will not be responsible for any shipping costs, exam fees or veterinary care. Presence of parasites such as worms, Cocidia, or Guardia does not make a pup defective. We do test pup’s stools and treat if necessary. We attempt to send pups to new homes parasite free.

Three Year Genetic Defect Guarantee

A buyer whose Ganderwood bred dog is determined to have a genetic defect prior to turning 3 years old, is eligible for a new dog with comparable breeding of Ganderwood's choice free of charge, buyer does not have to return affected dog. No monetary refund will be given.  Ganderwood's veterinarian of choice must confirm diagnosis.  This only applies to an affected dog, not a dog who is a carrier of a genetic defect but is unaffected.

     Eye Guarantee

Ganderwood guarantees healthy eyes with a rating of CERF normal within the first 3 years of life or a replacement pup will be given with proof of an abnormal CERF exam. Buyer pays expense of CERF exam.

     Elbow Guarantee

Ganderwood guarantees elbows will rate normal with OFA up to 3 years old at time of evaluation.  If elbows do not rate normal by OFA, Ganderwood will give a replacement pup of their choosing. No refund will be given if dog shows signs of being overfed or has been fed puppy food after 16 weeks of age.

     Hip Guarantee

Ganderwood guarantees against hip dysplasia with a Mild or better rating by the O.F.A. (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) up to 3 years at time of evaluation.  If the buyer’s veterinarian believes the hips will not rate at least Mild with the O.F.A. and Ganderwood’s veterinarian of choice agrees, a replacement pup will be given.  However if there is a disagreement between buyer’s vet and Ganderwood’s vet, OFA will determine the final rating at buyer’s expense.  If the OFA finds severe or moderate dysplasia, Ganderwood will give a puppy of Ganderwood’s choice from a future litter in replacement.  Buyer may keep the dog. Monetary reimbursement will not be given.  This guarantee is void if evidence of abuse is present and noted by Ganderwood’s veterinarian of choice, and in no way covers hip dysplasia due to old age.  Guarantee is void if pup shows evidence of having been overfed or pup is fed puppy food over 16 weeks.

General Terms

The puppy must be registered with the American Kennel Club with the word Ganderwood  at the beginning of the registration name or guarantee is void.  Guarantee is void if animal has been bred or used in breeding or if puppy has been sold, mistreated, or neglected in any way. An overweight and unexercised animal is a mistreated animal.  The Guarantee only applies to the original purchaser.

At no time will Ganderwood be responsible for any costs associated with the buyer’s puppy except as stated above.  Ganderwood will not be responsible for costs of exams, medications, or surgeries. 

Ganderwood will take any puppy bred by them back into their ownership and care if buyer is unable to care for it.  No refund or reimbursement of any kind will be given in this case..

Although Ganderwood is careful to breed animals with good temperaments, no guarantee can be given regarding puppy’s temperament.

Neutering/spaying – guarantee is null and void if pup is neutered or spayed prior to 7 months of age.
